Office Guard was founded by security professionals who watched small medical practices, law firms, and real estate offices get devastated by email attacks — while enterprise security vendors ignored them. We built the solution they needed.
Built From the Front Lines
In 2015, our founder Marcus Webb was the CISO of a regional healthcare network when a wave of ransomware attacks began hitting small physician practices across the Midwest. The attackers were not sophisticated — they were sending simple phishing emails and walking through the front door because nobody had trained the staff to recognise them.
The enterprise security tools Marcus used at the hospital were either too expensive, too complex, or simply not designed for a 10-person medical office. The vendors who did serve small businesses offered generic solutions with no understanding of the specific threats facing healthcare, legal, or real estate professionals.
Office Guard was founded in 2016 to fill that gap. We built a service that combines enterprise-grade email filtering with industry-specific training — delivered at a price point and complexity level that works for small professional offices.
Today we protect over 2,500 offices across all three sectors, and we have never lost sight of our original mission: give small offices the defence they deserve.
Founded in Chicago after a wave of ransomware attacks hit local medical practices.
Expanded to serve law firms following a surge in wire fraud targeting legal settlements.
Launched real estate practice after FBI IC3 reported record wire fraud losses in the sector.
